Keely Henninger
Keely Henninger is a professional trail runner, researcher, and medical student at Oregon Health & Science University. A two-time top-10 finisher at the Western States 100 and former Team USA representative, she has earned victories at races including Lake Sonoma 50, Chuckanut 50K, and Black Canyon Ultras. Prior to medical school, Keely spent seven years at the Nike Sports Research Lab, where she studied female athlete physiology, biomechanics, pregnancy, hormonal health, and product innovation.
Today, her research focuses on female athlete health, including fertility, low energy availability, reproductive endocrinology, and metabolic health. She is the co-host of the Trail Society Podcast and leads research initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for female athletes. By combining her experiences as an athlete, scientist, and future physician, Keely is working to bridge the gap between research, clinical care, and the real-world experiences of women in sport.
