Gerard Vila

Gerard Vila is the Director of the Kilian Jornet Foundation, where he leads multidisciplinary projects in education, research, sport, and conservation. He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering with a specialization in land management, along with a Master’s in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Gerard began his career in the Catalan Pyrenees, working in land management and serving as an external advisor for protected natural areas. In addition to his professional work, he has a background as a ski mountaineering athlete, bringing firsthand experience and a deep connection to mountain environments. His combined expertise in environmental science, sport, and project coordination supports the foundation’s mission to protect and preserve mountain ecosystems.
